NTP is a networking protocol for clock synchronization.
A manual, one-time synchronization with an NTP server can be carried out in operational mode like this:
vyos@vyos-rtr:~$ set date ntp
Automatic synchronization with NTP server
In order for the system to automatically synchronize its date and time, associations with one or more NTP servers must be created:
vyos@vyos-rtr# set system ntp server
Show the current status of connections to NTP servers, how often they are being polled and updating the systems clock, an Asterisk (*) next to a NTP server entry indicates a successful synchronization:
vyos@vyos-rtr:~$ show ntp
remote local st poll reach delay offset disp
